Abbey Gardens Summer Day Camps – Registration Open

Summer is just around the corner! Many families are already beginning to plan how to make the season special for their children. Time at the lake is a wonderful part of summer in Haliburton County, and a week or two at day camp can be a great addition to those family traditions, and we have expanded our day camp offerings for Summer 2026.

Abbey Gardens, near West Guilford, is once again offering two nature-based outdoor day camps running simultaneously for seven weeks starting July 6, 2026. Fresh Air Tykes (ages 5–6) and Outdoor Kids (ages 7–10) give children the chance to explore forests, fields, and gardens while learning about nature through hands-on outdoor adventures.

Great news for families with children in different age groups - they can now go to camp in the same week - making scheduling easier and giving parents time for a little R&R at the cottage while the kids are adventuring at Abbey Gardens!

There is also something for youth ages 11-14!  Unbridled is a unique half-day program designed to empower youth with the skills they need to build confidence, resilience, and positive relationships. Led by equine education specialists, participants will work in teams alongside our equine guides Maple, Sammy, and Flapjack, learning about horse care and herd dynamics while developing:

• Confidence and self-awareness

• Mindfulness and emotional regulation

• Creative problem-solving skills

• Healthy communication and teamwork

All while having a fun experience getting "close and personal" with rare Ojibwe Spirit Horses!
