Bell Canada: Fibre Optic Internet Installations on Boshkung - 2025
Member Updates

After speaking with a Bell technician a couple days ago on the Matabanick Road, I learned yesterday from Bell’s 705 Rural Internet Team that they have in fact changed their plans from submarine fibre optic installation to aerial cable installation, at least for the property owners on that part of Boshkung Lake. See message received at the link below.
For those interested in learning how this might affect your property, especially if you have existing Bell Canada connections and equipment on your property, I recommend contacting them by email at Bell705Ruralinternet@bell.ca. They were quick to respond and very good to deal with.

As an update to Barry Hicks’ post about the planned submarine fibre optic cable project on Boshkung [Friends of Boshkung, Facebook, September 22, 2024], I learned today from a Bell contractor inspecting our property and surrounding properties near the Matabanick Road that Bell has changed its mind, at least for those that have current Bell telephone pole/cable connections to their property.
The contractor said that Bell has reevaluated the best way to deliver fibre optic cable connections (for high speed internet) and submarine cabling may not be the best way for some locations on Boshkung, including Matabanick Road.
